LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club has assigned 16-year-old forward Zane Franklin to the Lloydminster Bobcats Midget AAA of the Alberta Midget Triple-A Hockey League.
Franklin, who was selected in the second round 43rd overall in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, appeared in one regular season game this year and five pre-season games where he collected three assists while going a team-high plus-5. The rookie forward had two points (1g-1a) in three games as an affiliate call up last year.


The Marwayne, Alberta product had 35 points (12g-23a) in 32 games during the 2014-2015 season with the Bobcats Midget AAA.
The move for the Hurricanes cuts their roster to a total of 23 players including two goaltenders, eight defense and now 13 forwards. As well, drops the team to just three 16-year-old players including Jordy Bellerive, Brett Davis and Nick Watson.
The Hurricanes are back in action Tuesday night when they host the Red Deer Rebels at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm. Tickets are available by calling (403) 329-SEAT.
