What’s the best advice you’ve been given? It doesn’t always have to be earth shattering, poetic, or complicated. The best advice, especially when coming from someone older is advice that makes sense, and that you can use to improve your life.

I witnessed, what I consider to be some of the best advice ever handed down at the north side Walmart. Specifically, the McDonald’s inside the Walmart.

A family was sitting down to enjoy a nice Saturday lunch. Two girls were arguing about whose happy meal toy was whose while Mom was discussing the pros and cons about microwaves. An older boy, probably about 7 years old was scarfing his food down while Dad stared at the shopping crowds, snapping 3 or 4 fries at a time in his mouth. The older boy asked his dad, “Dad, can I have another burger?” and this is where the great advice came… the Dad promptly said “No son”…”why not Dad?” “because, if you have a second burger, you’ll be fat like me”

and they all continued to eat. I have heard a lot of advice over the years, but that was possibly the most practical, and useful. Then I ate my son’s burger… you know, so he doesn’t get fat.
