Three years after prolific Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie’s passing, his final solo recordings are set for release.

Downie’s seventh solo album will serve as a follow-up to Introduce Yerself which was released 10-days after his death from glioblastoma, an incurable and rare form of brain cancer on October 17, 2017. Away is Mine will mark Gord’s second posthumous release.

The double album was recorded in July of 2017 at the Tragically Hip’s Bathhouse Studio in Bath, ON. Downie finished up work on the project just three months prior to his passing.

Away is Mine will see contributions from Dave Koster, Josh Finlayson, Travis Good of The Sadies, and Downie’s son, Louis.

According to Toronto record label, Arts & Crafts, the 20-track collection will be “Downie’s final solo recording.” Away is Mine is set for release October 16, one day shy of the third anniversary of Gord’s death.
